A study of 600 MFIs indicated that MFIs' willingness to offer microinsurance is positively correlated to a rise in the financial expense ratio, loan repayments in arrears, years of operation, number of borrowers, woman borrower ratio, life insurance penetration ratio, and family size.
The modified version of the Fatigue Impact Scale 27, 28 (MFIS) was included to evaluate severity of fatigue.
Using a conservative value for the SD of 18, a sample size of 50 in each treatment group ensures an 80% chance (statistical power) that a treatment effect of a mean difference of 10 MFIS units (well above a clinically relevant difference on this scale which runs from 0 to 84) is reflected in a p value less than 0.05.
The findings were used to design new composites of Ni Mn Ga and polyurethane which show up to 1% MFIS and are stable over one million cycles of strain.
Independent t-tests between subjects classified as Exercisers and Non-exercisers were performed for age, years since MS diagnosis, MSIS-29, BDI and each subscale of the SF36 and MFIS.

Correspondingly, respondents with relapsing-worsening disease who were shown to have the most severe fatigue also had a higher mean total MFIS score (51.3 ± 15.9 compared to those with relapsing-stable (36.8 ± 18.3) and primary progressive (36.9 ± 18.9) MS. The MFIS-5 is an abbreviated version of the MFIS-21, which is a modified form of the Fatigue Impact Scale [ 25, 26].
When magnetically cycled, both types of foams exhibit repeatable MFIS of 0.24 0.28% without bias stress.
For both MOS-Cog and MFIS, a 1-point score corresponds to a defined category of how often MS impacts aspects of cognition and fatigue.
