Likewise, the most important food items consumed at household level are milk and butter accounting for 42%, grain 35%, meat 10%, vegetables and fruits 4% and others 9% (Figures 1 and 2). Figure 1 Livelihood options for the Borena people.

Furthermore, in Southern Androy (IV) where forest cover was stable, the pressure on remaining forests resources is high with population densities>150 persons/km2 (Table 2, Fig. 7) Livelihood insecurity associated with recurrent drought periods are a serious concern for the inhabitants in Androy.
The tasks fall under two main headings: 1) School Programme and 2) Livelihood (i.e. Prevocational) Skills Training and Job Placement with a third task, 3) A Baseline Assessment, to be carried out in 2007 (it was actually done in 2008) as well as a final evaluation to be carried out in 2009 (started in February 2010) of which this report is an outcome.
Those sites employ a total of 15,000 people, and a further 25,000 livelihoods are under threat in the supply chain if the business collapses.
"What he failed to add," Mr. Ahn said in an interview this year with MBC TV, "is that if someone keeps those 10,000 livelihoods for himself and takes more from others, then he's no help to society, where all of us must live together".
"As a man responsible for 70,000 workers - that's 70,000 livelihoods supporting 70,000 families - Mr Pessina was perfectly entitled to speak out," he told the Daily Mail.
"You're looking at about 100,000 to 200,000 livelihoods," he says, "then you've got other areas that would be affected, such as tourism, foreign trade and, of course, the food industry".
The pot of money is growing, but investors also said they left $3.1 billion waiting in the wings - and that's enough to launch 30 Livelihoods Funds or help tens of millions of farmers like Mayende.
