At final evaluation, 18 knees (60%) had excellent Knee Society objective scores, 11 knees (37%) had good scores, and 1 knee (3%) had a poor score.
The indication for knee surgery was degenerative osteoarthritis (47 knees), rheumatoid arthritis (1 knee), posttraumatic sequelae (1 knee), spastic paraplegia (1 knee), and hemophilia (1 knee).
The reason for RTKA with TTO was staged treatment of infection in 38 knees, stiffness and arthrofibrosis in 21 knees, aseptic loosening in 15 knees, instability in 6 knees, patellar maltracking in 2 knees, polyethylene wear-through in 2 knees, femoral component malrotation in 1 knee, heterotopic ossification in 1 knee, and tibiofemoral dislocation in 1 knee.
The preoperative diagnosis was osteoarthritis in 100 knees (90%), rheumatoid arthritis in 8 knees (7%), posttraumatic arthritis in 2 knees (2%), and other causes (pseudogout) in 1 knee (0.9%) (Table 1).
There was 1 knee in the HA-coated group, 1 knee in the uncoated group and 1 knee in the cemented group with continuous migration.
A fracture around the component occurred in 7 knees (0.8%), including at the patella in 3 knees, at the supracondylar of the femur in 3 knees, and below the tibial component in 1 knee.
