Following FPI in the newborn, NMDA (10−8, 10−6 M) induced pial artery dilation was reversed to vasoconstriction and both NOC/oFQ and ET-1 receptor antagonists partially prevented such alterations (9 ± 1 and 16 ± 1, sham control; −7 ± 1 and −12 ± 1, FPI; −2 ± 1 and −3 ± 1, FPI-NOC/oFQ antagonist; and 2 ± 1 and 5 ± 1%, FPI-ET-1 antagonist).
Participants were overweight (BMI 27.7 ± 3.5 kg/m) with poor control of the following metabolic parameters: FPG 8.6 ± 1.3 mmol/l, FPI 145.6 ± 17.8 pmol/l, and A1C, 7.5 ± 0.5%.
The range of FPG was from 4.0 to 5.8 mmol/l (FPI from 2.2 to 28.7 μU/ml) in control subjects and from 4.4 to 6.1 (FPI from 6.3 to 42.3) in siblings.
Mastoparan (10−8, 10−6 M) elicited pial artery dilation that was blunted by FPI and partially restored by the PKC inhibitor chelerythrine (10−7 M) or the O−2 free radical scavengers polyethylene glycol superoxide dismutase and catalase (SODCAT) (9±1 and 16±1, sham control; 3±1 and 5±1, FPI; and 7±1 and 11±1%, FPI SODCAT pretreated).
Cromakalim and NS1619 induced pial artery dilation was attenuated following FPI and MEAVP preadministration partially prevented such impairment (13±1 and 23±1, sham control; 2±1 and 5±1, FPI; and 9±1 and 15±2%, FPI-MEAVP pretreated for responses to cromakalim 10−8, 10−6 M, respectively).
In addition, the enhanced tube with the highest fin height (Turbo Chil-26 FPI) has 33% lower external convective resistance than that with lower fin height (GEWA-KS-40 FPI).
The external fin density of test tube is 45 fpi (fins per inch), and outside diameter is 19.05 mm.
Turbo-CAB (19 fpi and 26 fpi), Korodense, and smooth tubes were tested in a range of film Reynolds number from about 10 to 110 and in the condition of only convective evaporation, without nucleate boiling.
High performance integrally-finned tubes with external fin density of 54 and 56 fpi are designed and manufactured.
The condensing heat transfer of R134a on five tubes with integral-fin density of 20, 37, 48, 54, 56 fpi and five different high performance three dimensional enhanced tubes are studied for their single horizontal tube.
Twenty-six weeks of treatment had no effect on BMI, waist circumference, FPG, HbA1c, FPI, and lipid metabolism (Table 1).
