Of the courses listed below, only ENGRD 2100 /ECE 2100 and ECE 2300 /ENGRD 2300, and ECE 2200 are currently taught in both the fall and spring semesters.
Although best known for its role in the conversion of big endothelin to endothelin-1, endothelin-converting enzyme 1 (ECE-1) also regulates the resensitization of certain neuropeptide receptors, including the receptor for calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) (Padilla et al., 2007).
Endothelin-1 is generated from its inactive precursor big-ET-1 by endothelin-converting enzyme 1 (ECE-1).
More recently, a second strategy has started to be more widely tested in clinical trials using inhibitors of ET-converting enzymes 1 (ECE-1; Xu et al., 1994) and 2 (ECE-2; Emoto and Yanagisawa, 1995), the major biosynthetic pathway of ET at least in the human vasculature (Russell and Davenport, 1999a,b).
SalD was also a promising compound against endothelin converting enzyme 1 (ECE-1), supporting its use in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases 11, 12. SalD is also the major component of some TCM preparations including "Danshen" injection, "QI-SHEN-YI-QI" dropping pills, "SHUANGDAN" granules, and "Fufang Danshen" tablets.
